Insurance
I am a preferred provider for Regence and Blueshield and all the subsidiaries that fall under them. If you are not sure if your insurance covers massage, call your representative or look online at your specific policy. I DO offer direct billing to primary policies (mainly Regence) as a courtesy. I do Not, however, bill secondary insurance policies, and at this time I do not bill L&I, PIP, military, or medicare/aide. I can provide you with a thorough receipt and SOAP notes, but payment at time of service will be required.
In order to receive massage therapy, it is required that you obtain a prescription or written referral from a licensed medical professional in the state of Washington who is authorized to diagnose physical ailments. This is in compliance with insurance regulations and Washington state law.
Massage Therapy is not covered by all insurance plans. While many plans offer coverage, it typically falls under the "Outpatient Rehab" services category. This umbrella includes other services like speech therapy, cardiology, naturopathy, and chiropractic care. If you plan allows, for example, 16 visits per year for outpatient rehab services, all services under this category (including massage therapy) count toward that total.
If you have not met your deductible for the year, it is important to know that you will be paying toward that deductible at time of service. You are not charged both a deductible and a copay; it is one or the other. If we are billing your insurance, you will be charged at the set insurance rate, regardless if you are paying toward your deductible or not.
In the event that the insurance company denies the claim, you are responsible for the full amount of the session. It is your responsibility to keep track of benefit limits, prescriptions, and referral status. While I provide direct billing to the insurance company as a courtesy, I do not monitor your individual policy.
For your appointment, please bring your photo I.D, your insurance card, your prescription or referral, and your copayment or deductible payment.
